Mario Schifano

Mario Schifano, one of the most influential Italian artists of the post-war period and a protagonist of Italian Pop Art, experimented with innovative techniques and materials, blending painting, photography, and digital experimentation. Born in 1934 in Homs, Libya, and later moving to Rome, he became famous for his monochrome canvases, revisions of commercial logos, and reinterpretations of Italian landscapes. Schifano was able to fuse the language of mass culture with a deep pictorial research.
